About us

STEAM World is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering innovative educational STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) programs to small, underserved rural schools in the Northwest USA.

Educating the Future

Our passion is to engage students in learning, to entice them to explore and ask questions, and to find excitement in discovering how things work. We design and deliver STEAM learning programs from kindergarten to college level. Our programs can be as simple as cardboard construction to 3D printing, coding, robotics, electronics, neuroscience, psychology, and more. Besides delivering programs directly to students, we also work with schools and teachers to assist them in designing a STEAM curriculum and labs for their classrooms, and to create student engagement. Computer Zen has been an excellent resource in assisting STEAM World in delivering our programs to schools, and has been very generous in donating staff, expertise, and funding to support these useful STEAM programs for schools.

Our Past Projects

With sponsorship from companies like Computer Zen, and other community businesses throughout Idaho and Montana, STEAM World is able to provide STEAM learning opportunities as inexpensively as possible to rural and underrepresented schools in the Northwest United States. From creating googly-eyed Bristolbots to demonstrations of brainwaves to learning about prosthetics, STEAM World is dedicated to bringing technology and science to local schools and students.

STEAM World Empowers 21st-Century Learners

STEAM World is committed to the concept that students should be more than just recipients of education. Through our tailored STEAM education programs, we propel students to become the makers and innovators of their learning journeys. By becoming active contributors, students harness tools that help them explore and become excited about their surroundings, and become empowered by an education model tailored for meeting the needs and challenges of the 21st century.

Our services are centered on the belief that when a student constructs a model rocket, designs a kite, or crafts a birdhouse, the learning experience transcends traditional education models that focus on standardized tests. Students not only grasp concepts in math, physics, and chemistry, they also hone vital skills like creativity, adaptability, and planning—a quality crucial to critical thinking and extrapolation. With STEAM, students gain insights into themselves and the world, and gain confidence to take charge of their own education.
